Dwan Doubles Through Ivey

Nvel 11 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Phil Ivey opened to 48,000 in the cutoff, Tom Dwan three-bet to 137,000 out of the big blind, and Ivey moved all in for effectively 610,000. Dwan snap-called.

Dwan: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Ivey: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Dwan flopped a set of aces when the dealer spread {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and the hand was over when the turn brought the {6-Diamonds}. A meaningless {4-Hearts} completed the board, and Dwan doubled back over a million chips.

Haxton Wins a Two Million-Chip Pot off of Dwan

Nvel 11 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Isaac Haxton, and Justin Bonomo

After firing six bullets in the $100,000 Challenge and two bullets in this event, Isaac Haxton will need to finish fourth or better to show a profit on the trip. He just took a big step in that direction, winning a two-million chip pot off of Tom "durrrr" Dwan.

Dwan was second to act and opened for a raise to 55,000. Haxton three-bet to 165,000 on the button, Phil Ivey and Jason Mercier folded in the blinds, and Dwan tank-called. The flop fell {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, Dwan checked, and Haxton continued for 130,000. Dwan check-raised, making it 350,000 to go, and Haxton called.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, Dwan tanked for a bit, and then he moved all in for effectively 756,000. Haxton called quickly.

Dwan: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Haxton: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Over 2.5 million chips were in the pot with only one card to come, and only two cards in the deck would eliminate the Team PokerStars Online member. The {j-Clubs} was not one of them, and Haxton was awarded a massive pot.

Dwan plummeted to 517,000.

This key hand in which Haxton and Dwan both held pocket pairs illustrates both how to maximize value with a big hand as well as how detrimental it can be to turn a strong hand into what is essentially a bluff. Bloom Involved in Three Consecutive All-In Pots; Vogelsang Busts

Nvel 11 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Tony Bloom raised to 50,000 from under the gun, Fabian Quoss three-bet shoved for 397,000 out of the small blind, and Bloom called.

Bloom: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Quoss: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The case jack peaked through the window of the {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop, and Quoss' hand held as the turn and river bricked {k-Diamonds}, {k-Clubs} respectively.

On the very next hand, Christoph Vogelsang raised to 50,000 from under the gun, Bloom moved all in for 230,000 out of the big blind, and Vogelsang called.

Vogelsang: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Bloom: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Vogelsang had Bloom dominated, but he former flopped a pair when the dealer fanned {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The German could still win the hand with a king or an eight on the turn or river, but neither the {6-Clubs} nor the {9-Clubs} improved his hand.

After that hand, Bloom moved all in our of the small blind for effectively 150,000, and Vogelsang called.

Bloom: {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Vogelsang: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The German had the better of it again, but was eliminated when the board ran out {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs}, giving Bloom a flush.

Ivey Busts Bonomo and Chips Up On Next Hand

Nvel 11 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Phil Ivey just picked up two pots to move to 1.35 million in chips, which is currently good enough for second place behind Tom Dwan.

On the first hand, Ivey busted Justin Bonomo and added around half a million to his stack. It happened when Bonomo raised all in for around 440,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} from early position, and Ivey called from the hijack seat with the {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}, and Bonomo headed to the rail.

On the next hand, Ivey was under the gun and raised to 48,000. PokerStars Team Online's Isaac Haxton called out of the big blind, and the flop came down {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Haxton checked, Ivey bet 55,000, and Haxton folded.

Big Double for McDonald

Nvel 11 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang opened with a raise to 50,000, and then action folded over to Mike McDonald. McDonald moved all in for 561,000, and Vogelsang made the call with the {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. McDonald was at risk with the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} in this pot worth nearly 1.2 million in chips.

The flop put Vogelsang in front with the {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} falling. The turn was the {K-Clubs}, which added a flush draw for McDonald and gave him some extra outs.

The river completed the board with the {6-Clubs}, and McDonald made his flush. He doubled up to 1.176 million, and Vogelsang was knocked back under 500,000.
