The second and final day of the 2,200 No Limit Hold'em Deep Stack will start at 12:30 p.m. local time and only 29 players are remaining out of the 160 that started. Play will continue until a new winner is crowned at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo?Casino European Poker Tour (EPT). The champion will take home 72,170 but the money has yet to be reached. Alexandre Reard has the biggest stack. He bagged 358,000 after starting the day with 30,000 like everyone else.
Only 29 remain in the 2,200 Deep Stack but six of them will walk away from the tournament empty-handed. Twenty-Three players will end up in the money with the min cash standing at 3,600. The man with the best position at the start of Day 2 is Reard but he is closely followed by Yake Wu (300,000), Romain Piraux (297,000), and Sasan Tabib (291,000). Others that made it through to Day 2 includeJean-Ren Fontaine (212,000), Thomas Muehloecker (168,000), Georgios Kitsios (159,000), Maria Lampropulos (150,000), and 2018 EPT Sochi Main Event Champion Arsenii Karmatckii (126,000).
Ariel Celestino busted out of the Main Event in the last level of Day 3. The Brazilian finished in 32nd place, cashing for 17,310. He does have another shot at EPT Monte Carlo to improve on that score as he made it to Day 2 of the 2,200 Deep Stack as well. Celestino ended Day 1 with 188,000 and that is slightly above the average stack of 165,000. He needs to finish in 5th place or higher to improve on his Main Event score.
Levels will be 30 minutes long on Day 2 of the tournament, just like they were on Day 1. The tournament will restart in level 16 with blinds at 2,500/5,000 and a big blind ante of 5,000. A winner will be crowned today and someone will walk away with 72,170.
PokerNews will be on site to give you updates until there's a champion.
