Norwegian Sander Ostlyngen topped a record breaking 1,534 entrant field to claim the 2,200 Eureka High Roller trophy and a massive 463,850 after 16 hours of play here at PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague at the Hilton Prague.
Ostlyngen ended Day 1b with a top ten chip stack and managed to continue to build and build throughout the day. Ostlyngen went under the radar for much of the day before turning quads to double up against Mehdi Chaoui with two tables left in a coin flip against ace-jack. The Norwegian came into the final table as a middling stack but managed to slowly secure the ladder-ups until winning the tournament defeating the start of final table chip leader Stanislav Koleno heads up. Koleno was the opposite of Ostlygen with Koleno constantly being involved in big pots and being one of the chip leaders especially after winning aces against ace-king to eliminate Marcin Puczylowski.
Ostlygen is fairly new to the live tournament circuit having only nine previous cashes on his Hendon Mob but had already cashed two events here in Prague. However, this is his biggest win by far with his live tournament earnings only being $28,185 prior to this huge score.

Hugeues Mazerolle didn't last long as he was eliminated on the very first hand when he three-bet jammed ace-eight only to be eliminated by Nichita Verbitchii's ace-nine. Marius Gicovanu had come into to final table as one of the short stacks and he was soon gone as his pocket jacks ran into Kasparas Kleezys's pocket kings in a cooler to be eliminated in eighth.
David Hu was also a short stack and he was eliminated too as chip leader Stanislav Koleno took his first victim in a blind vs blind all-in.. Six-handed play lasted forever until Lithuanian Kleezys was eliminated as he called off ace-queen from the big blind against big stack Koleno's five-three when Koleno flopped two pair.
Verbitchii soon followed as he raised his top pair into Koleno but Koleno had trips to eliminate Verbitchii from the tournament in fifth. This gave Koleno all the chips as the short stacks all tried desperately to outlast each other. However Andrew Hulme was the one to eventually fall as he near blinded out before losing ace-queen to Jorge Ufano's pocket fives.
Ufano shortly followed as he lost a blind vs blind all-in against Ostlyngen before Ostlyngen eventually finished him off having turned a straight against Pardo's top pair.
This left Koleno heads-up with Ostlyngen with Koleno having the chips lead. Moreover, it would be a shortlived heads-up affair as small pots were played before Ostlyngen took the chip lead in a big pot post flop which didn't go to showdown. Ostlyngen managed to close it out as he bet big on the river covering Koleno. Koleno went deep into the tank before calling but his pocket kings were no good for Ostlyngen's trip jacks as the young Norwegian took home the trophy in the early hours.
