Francisco Benitez Eliminated in 4th Place (191,790)

Nvel 22 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Francisco Benitez
Francisco Benitez

Francisco Benitez moved all in from the button and was called by Artur Martirosian, putting Benitez at risk.

Francisco Benitez: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Artur Martirosian: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

Although Martirosian had him dominated preflop, the flop of {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} pulled Benitez in the lead with his pair of threes.

The turn {7-Hearts} was no help to Martirosian but the river sure was as the {j-Hearts} fell to give him the superior pair of jacks to win the hand.

Benitez was not so thrilled and headed to the payout desk in fourth place.

Laszlo Bujtas
Laszlo Bujtas

Left with a short stack due to a big loss to Paul Phua previously, Laszlo Bujtas moved all in and was called by none other than Phua, putting Bujtas at risk. Bujtas did not look too thrilled about the call, as he sheepishly tabled his hand.

Laszlo Bujtas: {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Paul Phua: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The board was no help to Bujtas as it ran out {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} to give Phua the nut straight, eliminating Bujtas in fifth place.

Steve O'Dwyer Eliminated in 6th Place (117,000)

Nvel 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Steve O'Dwyer raised to 100,000 preflop and was called by Paul Phua and the two saw a flop of {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Phua checked and O'Dwyer bet out 140,000, but then Phua check-raised all in, covering O'Dwyer.

After using several timebanks, O'Dwyer made the call, putting himself at risk.

Steve O'Dwyer: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Paul Phua: {6-Spades}{7-Clubs}

Phua was in the lead with his flopped two-pair, and the runout of {2-Spades}{q-Clubs} did nothing to help O'Dwyer and he was eliminated in sixth place.

You can go ahead and forget about the preview article we wrote a few days back on the $1.6 million High Stakes Duel III rematch between Phil Hellmuth and Scott Seiver, scheduled for August 22 on PokerGO, because the game has been called off.

Citing personal reasons, three months after his Round 4 defeat, Seiver has decided to back out of the match, leaving the seat open for a new challenger to face Hellmuth, who is 9-1 on the heads-up poker show.

Mikita Badziakouski virtually jammed for 315,000 from the button, leaving 5,000 behind. Michael Addamo went all in from the small blind and Badziakouski flicked in his last remaining chip.

Mikita Badziakouski: {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Michael Addamo: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to put Addamo way out in front.

Badziakouski was offered a glimmer of hope as the {q-Clubs} came on the turn.

However, it wasn't meant to be as the {8-Spades} completed the board, sending Badziakouski home in seventh place.

Paul Phua opened for 100,000 from under the gun and Imad Derwiche went all in for 300,000, looking at Phua and saying "Let's go big boss!" in the process. Action folded around to Phua, who bickered with Derwiche for a few seconds before making the call.

Imad Derwiche: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Paul Phua: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {9-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Derwiche stood up and was ready for his walk.

The {4-Diamonds} arrived on the turn and the {6-Diamonds} completed the board to eliminate the Frenchman in eighth place.
