The flop came 9?8?3? and Thorel bet 100,000. Mateos called. Both players then checked down the 2? turn and 6? river and Thorel turned over A?3? for a pair of threes. Mateos let out a laugh as he mucked.
Mateos got those chips back the next hand when he raised to 80,000 under the gun. Mike Watson three-bet to 230,000 in the small blind and Mateos moved all in for around 850,000. Watson quickly folded.
