GGPoker Spring Festival H-83: $10,300 Super Tuesday Action of the Day

98 unique entrants had filled the field with no shortage of notables, as can be expected of a $10K. Among those who cashed, but fell short of the final table, are Stephen O'Dwyer (24th place), Daniel Dvoress (20th place), Isaac Haxton (18th place), Sam Greenwood (17th place), Fedor Holz (13th place), and Kristen Bicknell (11th place), who was among one of the last people to late reg. She fell just short of the final table when her ace-six suited fell to Watson's ace-queen.

The money bubble burst when Sam Kelopuro's ace-four suited against Stephen Chidwick's jack-eight suited.

Peters started the final table with a commanding chip lead relative to the other players. His 8 million in chips dwarfed the next biggest stack of 2.5 million owned by of "illywilly97". Ami Barer, Andrii Derzhypilskyi, Stephen Chidwick, and Nick Petrangelo fell one by one, with Petrangelo losing a race with king-jack suited against Peters' pocket tens.

Mark Radoja

Watson started his ascension to the top after winning ace-jack versus the pocket sixes of Timothy Adams. The Canadian, well-known under his alias "SirWatts" in the online realm, spiked the ace on the river to send Adams out in fifth. Watson also knocked out "illywilly97" in fourth in a blind-on-blind battle to leave the field with him, Peters, and Radoja.

Peters, the overwhelming chip leader at the start of the final table, dwindled down steadily throughout and ultimately parked his queen-jack suited into Watson's king-queen to be eliminated in 3rd place. A few hands into the heads-up, Watson and Radoja agreed to a deal to end the tournament on the spot, with Watson taking home the title and slightly more money than Radoja.

This concludes today's coverage of Event H-83: $10,300 Super Tuesday. However, with several more days of GG Spring Festival action to come be sure to stick with PokerNews as we continue to bring you all the action from the virtual felt!

Nvel 34 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Both players agreed to a deal shortly after getting to heads up. Mike Watson will officially take 1st place, but both players agreed to share the remaining prize pool equitably with Watson receiving just slightly more than Radoja (~$360,000 going to Watson and ~$330,000 to Radoja).

Stay tuned for a re-cap of today's event.

David Peters Eliminated in 3rd Place ($223,398)

Nvel 34 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

David Peters open shoved for his last 1.9 million and Michael Watson called from the big blind to put Peters at risk.

Peters: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Watson: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Watson had Peters dominated and things only got worse for Peters on the {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Hearts} flop. The {8-Hearts} turn left Peters drawing dead and an irrelevant {7-Clubs} came on the river.

Peters will take $223,298 for his performance.

"illywilly97" Eliminated in 4th Place ($167,525)

Nvel 34 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Action folded to Michael Watson in the small blind, who raised enough to put "illywilly97" all in for his last 2 million. "illywilly97" called.

"illywilly97": {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Watson: {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

"illywilly97" was in good shape to double, but was drawing nearly dead on the {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop. The {a-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} river were no help and "illywilly97" was eliminated in 4th place for $167,525.

Watson Doubles Through "illywilly97"

Nvel 33 : 50,000/100,000, 12,500 ante

"illywilly97" opened from the cutoff to 200,000 and was flatted by Michael Watson in the big blind.

Watson check-called a 120,000 bet on the {8-Spades}{k-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and again this time for 740,000 on the {j-Diamonds} turn.

The board completed with the {k-Clubs} and Watson checked a third time, prompting an all-in bet from "illywilly97", which was enough to cover Watson's stack of 2,323,000. Watson called and hands were shown.

"illywilly97": {6-Spades}{3-Spades} for a missed flush draw.
Watson: {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a flopped set.

With that, Watson now sits with just shy of 7 million in chips.
