Although several other familiar faces including Koray Aldemir, Barny Boatman, Tony Cousineau, Day 1 chip leader and MILLIONS Super High Roller Winner Chris Hunichen, and partypoker Sponsored Pro Kristen Bicknell all took chips out of the bag at the start of the final day, all of them missed the final table. Bicknell ended up finishing on the stone bubble, while Aldemir took 11th ($22,500), Boatman finished 15th ($15,000), Cousineau took 17th ($12,500), and Hunichen took home $10,000 for his 20th place finish.
Once the official final table was reached, James Walker was the first to depart. He finished in eighth place when he got his stack in preflop with ace-seven and failed to improve against Mateos who held ace-nine. Polish player Bartlomiej Machon finished in seventh shortly thereafter when he flopped top pair only to run into Kenny Hallaert's aces. Marc-Oliver Carpentier-Perrault was eliminated in sixth place when his ace-eight didn't get there against partypoker Head of Poker Tom Waters who held pocket eights.
German grinder Manig Loeser was the next go to in fifth place when his kings got cracked by Mateos's ace-queen. Just a few minutes later, Tom Waters busted in fourth place when he got his stack in with ace-seven and got no help from the deck against Filatov's pocket nines. Kenny Hallaert departed in third place when he got his stack in with two overcards to the board and a gutshot but ran into Filatov's top two pair.
Heads-up play between Filatov and Mateos lasted just over an hour. The two were close to even in chips for quite some time and traded a thin lead back and forth repeatedly over the course of many relatively small pots. Mateos got a big double-up approximately 50 minutes into the match when he shoved the river with aces and Filatov called with top pair. Although Filatov doubled up once thereafter when he turned top two pair against Mateos's top pair, the match didn't last much longer. Mateos won a key hand when he rivered a king-high flush to take the chip lead by a substantial margin, and several minutes later, it all ended when Filatov got his short stack in preflop with six-five suited and got no help from the board against Mateos's ace-jack off-suit.
