Day 2 convened with 1,356 players returning out of a total Day 1 field of 8,725 entries. The total prize pool was guaranteed to be at least $2.021 million, but swelled to $3,280,600 by the time it was all closed. A total of 900 players were set to share in those prizes, with the winner slated to get $374,604.
It didn't take long to get into the money. The money bubble burst within about an hour of play starting, and the fast pace didn't let up for most of the day. Just 90 minutes later, there were fewer than 300 players left in action and along the way a few well known faces busted out for cashes including GGpoker ambassador Felipe Ramos as well as streamer Michiel "Easterdamnz" Van Elsacker.
About two hours later it was down to about 100 as players like double bracelet winner Taylor "MobyDick" Paur, Joao Simao, and Endrit Geci hit the rail. A few more hours and they were down to the final table.
It took awhile to get things started on the final table, but when Sparrow "FacelessMan" Cheung was the first person out, it opened the flood gates and Rui "OlliOctavius" Sousa, "minterofbtc", "Hazes", and Tenno "ViiolAwo" Tonts all busted in short order to get it down to 4 remaining, with Addamo taking out 2 of the first five players to leave the final table.
It slowed down a bit four-handed and they played nearly 45 minutes with Addamo and "benchplayer8" trading the lead back and forth while the other two players nursed short stacks. That all changed when Addamo hit a huge hand with king-deuce against ace-seven for "benchplayer8", turning quads against a full house for a huge lead. Addamo then busted "benchplayer8" a couple hands later, cracking their aces with ten-seven.
It was all Addamo after that when he quickly got there with queen-five against ace-ten to bust Don "Pikerdon" McCall, and then got there again with queen-jack over ace-king to bust Tudor "hotsince93" Lazar in second place after a very short heads up. Lazar banked $280,910 for second place.
