Shack-Harris Scoops

Nvel 22

Omaha 8

Action folded to Abe Mosseri in the small blind and he raised, which prompted Brandon Shack-Harris to called from the big. The {8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop saw Mosseri bet, Shack-Harris raise, and Mosseri call to see the {6-Diamonds} turn. Mosseri check-called a bet of 160,000 and then did the same on the {2-Clubs} river.

Shack-Harris rolled over the {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{a-Hearts} for a full house and the nut low, which was good enough to scoop the pot.

Chun Lei "samrostan" Zhou Eliminated in 5th Place ($286,122)

Omaha 8

Brandon Shack-Harris limped under the gun (he would later admit that he thought he was putting out the big blind), and that inspired three other players to do the same. The {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} flop saw three players checked to John Hennigan, and he bet 80,000 from the button. Abe Mosseri called from the small blind, and then Chun Lei "samorstan" Zhou check-raised to 160,000. Shack-Harris folded, the other two players called, and three players watched the dealer burn and turn the {8-Diamonds}.

Mosseri checked, Zhou bet all in for his last 160,000, and both Hennigan and Mosseri called. The two active players then checked the {6-Spades} river.

Mosseri: {q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Hennigan: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Zhou: {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

Zhou's two pair was no good as Mosseri had a flush for the high and Hennigan an 8-7-4-2-A low. The last of Zhou's chips were chopped up and he was dispatched in fifth place for $286,122.

Two Pair for Hennigan

Nvel 22

Omaha 8

Jesse Martin raised the button and John Hennigan defended from the big blind, which led to a {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{q-Spades} flop. Hennigan check-called a bet and then both players checked the {7-Hearts} turn. When the {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Hennigan led out for 160,000 and Martin made a reluctant call.

Hennigan rolled over the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for two pair, and it was good.

Frank Kassela Eliminated in 6th Place ($212,829)

Frank Kassela - 6th Place

Stud

Frank Kassela was all in on third street against John Hennigan, and the boards were dealt out as such:

Kassela: {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs} / {a-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Hennigan: {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Kassela had the lead with a pair of fours going into seventh street, but Hennigan turned over the {10-Hearts} for a superior pair of tens. Kassela turned over a big red brick - the {q-Diamonds} - and he was eliminated in sixth place.

The 2010 WSOP Player of the Year earns $212,829.

Kassela Crippled

Nvel 22

Stud

Frank Kassela: {x-}{x-} / {3-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{k-Clubs} / {x-}
Brandon Shack-Harris: {x-}{x-} / {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} / {x-}

Abe Mosseri brought it in with the {2-Clubs}, Shack-Harris completed, and Kassela raised. Only Shack-Harris called.

Kassela led out on fourth, fifth, and sixth street, and Shack-Harris called him down until sixth, when he raised. Kassela tank-called. Kassela checked in the dark on seventh, Shack-Harris bet, and Kassela sweat his card before calling.

Shack-Harris showed {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a flush, and Kassela showed a {k-} for trip kings.

Kassela was left with just 25,000, and doubled on the next stud hand against Jesse Martin when the boards came out like this:

Kassela: {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} / {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs}
Jesse Martin: {j-Hearts}{2-Spades} / {j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{4-Diamonds} / {9-Hearts}

Kassela is still in the danger zone, despite the double.

He then led out on sixth, Martin called, and Shack-Harris bet one more time on seventh. Martin raised to 320,000 and Shack-Harris released his hand.

Shack-Harris: {x-}{x-} / {10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} / {x-}
Martin: {x-}{x-} / {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} / {x-}
