After technical problems caused the suspension of the first two events in the GGPoker World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online, action is now set to resume. Before the end of today, both of the events suspended on the opening day of the series will award their bracelets.
Almost 3,700 will sit down today to resume play. They managed to get about a level and half completed in Event #32: $100 The Opener last week before the technical issues forced play to halt. At that time, there were 3,684 players still playing a stack, with 3,039 paid spots available.
They'll play through those remaining ~700 players quickly, and they'll be in the money before long. No player has quite managed to amass two million chips yet, but the chip leader, Argentina's "Tata1407", has come the closest, unbagging 1,968,983 chips to start play today. Maksym "Romeopro1" Klopotok has the second biggest stack going into the day's action, with 1,883,890.
Action on the resumed Day 2 kicks off at 3:30 p.m. today, and play is scheduled to continue until a winner is decided. PokerNews will be bringing you the action and excitement through the day as the Opener finally plays down to a close.
GGPoker has just announced that a critical bug has been found, and play will be suspended in Event #32 until next week. The tournament will resume next Sunday at 2:30pm Eastern with the stacks in play when it was paused today.
GGPoker have also announced that they are planning "comprehensive compensation for the discomfort and inconvenience today" and encourage players to watch their feeds, as well as in-game and in-app messages, for updates.
