Dowdy's Shove Takes it Down

Nvel 27 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

David Dowdy opened from middle position to 100,000. Roongsak Griffeth, the cutoff, and Michael Simhai, the big blind, both made the call.

Griffeth fired for 200,000 on the {2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop. Simhai got out of the way, before Dowdy announced that he was all-in. Griffeth took a few moments, at one point asking if he was allowed to ask Dowdy to show his cards, before finally tossing his hand in the muck, giving the pot to Dowdy.

"I'll tell you if you tell me," Dowdy said, "You got a jack?"

"You'll tell me? King-jack" Griffeth responded.

"I had queens" Dowdy told him, although neither player showed any hole cards.

Song and Peck Turn a Straight to Chop Pot

Nvel 27 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

After limping preflop, five players stayed in the hand to see the flop.

On the {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop, Kevin Song bet 160,000 from the hijack. Austin Peck, the small blind, was his only caller.

Peck fired for 250,000 on the {5-Diamonds} turn, and Song called. The {6-Clubs} river was checked through. Song turned over {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} while Peck showed {8-Hearts}{k-Spades}, giving both players the eight-high straight, leading to a chopped pot between the two.
