Yunis Drops Two in a Row

Nvel 29 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Jason Stockfish opened for 100,000 on the button and Nick Yunis called in the small blind.

On the {j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, Yunis checked, Stockfish bet another 100,000, and Yunis came back with a raise to 300,000.

Stockfish then pushed forward a tower of chips, raising to 500,000, as Yunis quickly folded. Stockfish showed {10-}{5-}{5-}{3-}.

The next hand, Yunis raised to 140,000 from the button and Joon Park and Eric Buchman called in the blinds. All three players checked to the river on a board of {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

The river came the {2-Spades} and Park threw in four blue 100,000 chips. Buchman got out of the way, but Yunis went into the tank for about two minutes before calling.

"Full house," Park announced, showing {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for jacks full of kings, as Yunis gave up his second pot in a row.

Retired NBA Star Paul Pierce Allegedly Won't Pay His Poker Debts

Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce owes a poker home game host $180,000, according to a lawsuit filed, but is allegedly refusing to pay it back.

Stephen Carmona, per TMZ Sports, claims he hosted a private game at his house on January 27 and invited the NBA Hall of Famer, who is an avid but recreational poker player. He apparently gave Pierce a $150,000 loan to enter the high-stakes game with the promise of paying it back within seven days.

The lawsuit states that the retired basketball star only returned $10,000 of that money and then borrowed another $40,000 from Carmona to compete in a different game, but allegedly hasn't paid back any of that either. Pierce reportedly made around $200 million in salary and endorsement deals during his 17-year NBA career.
