Nvel 26 : Limits 120,000/240,000, 0 ante
Luis Velador
Luis Velador

Short on chips, Luis Velador was roughly forced to commit his remaining chips from the big blind after a button raise from Ben Lamb and a call from James Chen in the small blind.

A side pot between Lamb and Chen would ensue after the dealer rolled out the 9?7?9? flop. Lamb bet out and Chen called. Both players checked the 10? turn and Chen would fold to a bet from Lamb on the 7? river.

Luis Velador: J?10?3?2?
James Chen: J?J?5?4?
Ben Lamb: A?A?10?3?

Velador didn't find the help he needed and was out in 3rd place.

The players are on a short break before starting heads-up play.

Ben Lamb opened the action with a raise from the small blind and was met with a three-bet from James Chen in the big blind. Lamb called and the dealer put out a flop of K?2?3?.

Lamb checked-called a continuation bet from Chen and the 10? fell on the turn.

This time Lamb took the initiative and bet into Chen, who raised all-in his remaining chips.

James Chen: K?K?J?7?
Ben Lamb: J?9?6?3?

The final board read K?2?3?10?2? and Chen would get the double-up with kings full of deuces to avoid elimination.

Chen Essentially Doubles Through Velador

Nvel 26 : Limits 120,000/240,000, 0 ante

Luis Velador raised with the K?Q?9?8? and Ben Lamb called in the big blind with the A?10?3?3?. The 7?5?2? flop was checked by Velador, who then folded to a bet by Lamb with the nut low and wheel draw at that time.

Soon after that, James Chen raised his smaller stack out of the small blind with the A?A?4?4? and Velador defended the K?Q?9?3?. The 9?7?2? flop saw Chen bet and Velador call as the same action repeated on the 2? turn. Chen only had 45,000 behind to the 4? river and moved all-in.

Velador had huge pot odds but couldn't call, thus denying Chen a full double but dropping behind him on the leaderboard.

Vital Triple Up for Velador

Ben Lamb raised first to act and was called by James Chen with the A?J?5?2?, Luis Velador also stuck around as they went three ways to the K?J?8? flop. Chen opted to check and Velador bet. Lamb eyeballed the stack of his opponent and called, as did Chen and they headed to the 6? on the turn.

Chen checked again and Velador bet, Lamb raised and that sent Chen into the tank before he folded. Velador got it in for 635,000 and Lamb called as they flipped over their cards.

Luis Velador: K?Q?J?8?
Ben Lamb: A?K?7?2?

The Q? on the river failed to improve Lamb and he also missed the low to see Velador triple up while Chen was now the far shortest stack.

The final board ran out 9?8?3?J?2? and Chen would survive by outkicking Lamb with the same two pair, nines and treys.

Luis Velador

Action folded to Erik Seidel who called from the small blind, but would face a raise from Luis Velador in the big blind. Seidel called and both players checked the 9?Q?5? flop.

Velador bet out on the A? turn and Seidel made the call.

Velador would be all-in for his last 35,000 on the 9? river and even though Seidel was getting a good price, didn't have enough hand to make the call, keeping Velador's bracelet dreams alive.
