Day 8 of the WSOP - Daily News!

The $1500 Dealers Choice event concluded last night, Scott Clements took down his third WSOP Bracelet and with it came $144,957 in prize money. The $600 deepstack event also finished yesterday. This event was due to finish two days ago but there were 6,151 players that entered which meant that an extra day was needed. Jeremy Pekarek won his first WSOP Bracelet and $398,281.

Today we will see the $5,000 No Limit tournament finish as 6 players are returning to try and win a first place prize of $442,385. Commanding chip leader, Shannon Shorr actually has more chips than the combined total of the remaining 5 players! Ali Imsirovic, Maria Ho & Daniel Strelitz are also still in with a shot. Between all four of these players they have an amazing 179 WSOP cashes but none of them are yet to win a bracelet, something Im sure they will all be looking to change today.

The $1,500 2-7 No Limit 2-7 Lowdraw will also find a winner today with 6 players coming back to battle for just shy of a $100,000 dollars for first place. Ajay Chabra holds a massive chip lead coming into the final day and has nearly double the stack of Jerry Wong who is currently in second place.

The $1,500 H.O.R.S.E, $10,000 NL Heads Up and $1,500 NL 6 Max are all coming back for their respective Day 2s. In the $10k Heads Up there are just 16 players left from the 112 that started. One remaining player that jumps off the list is WSOP heads up legend John Smith. Smith has a great record in this tournament over the past few years with a back to back 2nd place finish in 2016 and 2017. He will be looking to go that extra step in this tournament as he tries to win that elusive Heads Up bracelet.

And finally, today also sees the start of the $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or better and the $1,500 Shootout.
